Place of birth: Newcastle
Position: Goalkeeper
International: England senior
Trophies won at Chelsea: FA WSL Spring Series 2017

Goalkeeper Carly Telford re-joined Chelsea Ladies in May 2017 on a short-term deal, having previously played for the Blues between 2010 and 2013.

With Hedvig Lindahl injured, Telford was first choice between the posts as the WSL Spring Series title was claimed, conceding only three times in the shortened league campaign. It was announced in July 2017 she had signed a new contract committing her to the club until May 2019.
Manager Emma Hayes said: ‘Carly came in and proved herself during the Spring Series. She’s matured, her all-round game has developed and she is more ready to compete for a place in the Chelsea team now than she was last time around. I’m delighted she accepted our offer to come back.’
Telford made her international debut for England in 2007 following spells at Sunderland, in her native North-East, and Leeds.
She was signed by Chelsea Ladies in 2011 and played for the Blues in the 2012 FA Cup final. Telford has also gained experience further afield having embarked upon a loan spell with Australian club Perth Glory before leaving Chelsea in 2013.
In 2014 she joined Notts County, and a year later she was part of their team who were beaten 1-0 by the Blues in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
Telford has been part of two England World Cup squads, most recently in 2015 when the Lionesses won a bronze medal in Canada, and she was also selected for the 2017 European Championship squad.
