Trophies won at Chelsea: FA WSL Spring Series 2017

A versatile, attack-minded player, Beth England joined the club ahead of the 2016 season having played a starring role in Doncaster Rovers Belles’ promotion to the FA Women’s Super League in the previous season. England scored 14 times in all competitions to help Doncaster finish second in FA Women’s Super League 2.
England featured predominantly as a winger prior to joining Chelsea but was also deployed as a centre forward and in central midfield. She added another string to her bow by offering cover at wing-back for Chelsea, most notably in the Women’s FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City, which came during a first half of the season in which she was in and out of the side, with a goal against her former club on the opening day of the WSL1 campaign the highlight.
Although she only started seven of her 19 appearances for the Blues in 2016, England quickly became a popular figure among supporters at Wheatsheaf Park; to put this solely down to her tenacity would be doing a disservice to a player who found the back of the net five times and added numerous assists.
The 2017 Spring Series began with a new regular role in the side as a left wing-back as Claire Rafferty struggled with injuries, and England was rewarded with a two-year contract extension early in the campaign.
In September, England moved on loan to Liverpool for the 2017/18 WSL season.
Having joined Doncaster from the Sheffield United Centre of Excellence in 2010, England has progressed through the international ranks to Under-23 level and scored in an England Under-23s win over Norway in June 2016, a game in which seven Blues took to the field for the young Lionesses.
